Constructive talks are ongoing with
Italy on the third installment of the National Recovery and
Resilience Plan (NRRP), the EU said Sunday.
"The assessment work" of the European Commission on Italy's
third payment request under the NRRP funds "is still ongoing",
said a spokesperson for the EU executive, specifying that
"constructive exchanges with the Italian authorities are taking
place and, where necessary, further information is being
provided.
"We will communicate the conclusion of our assessment as soon as
we have reached this stage: the fact that it took a little
longer than the indicative deadline is not unusual: for example,
the same happened with the payment requests of Luxembourg,
Romania and Slovakia," the spokesperson said.
