No one will ever forget the mafia's
Georgofili Massacre in Florence in 1993, Prmier Giorgia Meloni
said on the 30th anniversary of the Cosa Nostra bombing that
killed five people near the Georgofili academy agrarian
institute in the Tuscan capital.
"No Florentine, no Italian, will ever be able to forget the
Georgofili Massacre. Just as no one will ever be able to erase
from memory those difficult years for our nation, marked by
other bloody attacks and massacres," she said referring to
bombings in 1993 that killed 10 people and damaged art sites in
Rome, Florence and Milan, a year after the bomb assassinations
of judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.
"The government turns its heartfelt thoughts to all the families
of the victims and renews its thanks to the servants of the
State who, often in the shadows and amidst a thousand
difficulties, have fought and continue to fight against the
Mafia. And who, with their tireless work, bring ever closer the
definitive demise of organised crime."
