Hollywood icon Johnny Depp arrived in
Turin Monday to film the Italy-set scenes of his second
directorial effort, Modì, about the life of tormented early 20th
century Paris-based Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.
Italian star Riccardo Scamarcio plays Modigliani, while the film
also features Al Pacino, Stephen Graham, Luisi Ranieri and Sally
Phillips.
It is the second feature directed by the 60-year-old Depp after
1997's The Brave where he also acted alongside Marlon Brando.
That year Depp also starred alongside the now 83-year-old Pacino
in cult Mob classic Donnie Brasco.
Depp may visit the National Film Museum in Turin and take in an
exhibition on Tim Burton, the director who featured him in many
films including Depp's first hit Edward Scissorhands.
