Italy's world number two Jannik Sinner
has pulled out of the Madrid Open at the quarter-final stage due
to a painful hip problem.
"Taking the advice from the doctors we decided it's best to not
play further and make it worse," said the 22-year-old, who was
aiming for his fourth title of the year.
His withdrawal means that his quarter-final opponent Felix
Auger-Aliassime has got a bye into the last four.
The Australian Open champion is scheduled to take part in the
Italian Open in Rome next week.
